I have a job interview (by phone) in 34 minutes and I'm so nervous!

It's for a position with the City of San Francisco and based on what I know, I really want it. However, the other 6 candidates they're interviewing are all local to SF -- I'm the only non-local candidate. I'm pretty sure that's going to count against me, but I'm hoping that I have more industry knowledge and experience than the other folks.

Cross your fingers for me or something. Please.

Not so great. They asked 8 questions and I'd say I nailed 2 or 3 of them, while my responses to the rest were just so-so. I'm out of practice -- I haven't interviewed for anything in about 5 years! I find out on Friday whether I'm one of the 2 (from the 7 candidates) they'll be inviting to meet their Director. I don't expect to be, but we'll see what happens.

Sigh. Thanks for asking, though :)

It's a no-go :( Actually I think it's okay, because there have been some developments as far as possibly moving up within the ranks here. We should talk soon, because there has been a LOT going on lately!

Thank you! I needed all the luck I could get, apparently, as I don't think it went terribly well. I had to call in, and they were running behind schedule with the prior candidate, so I had to wait 20 minutes and call back 3 times before the secretary could put my call into their conference room... I think all the waiting made me extra-nervous, so I didn't come off anywhere near as eloquent and confident as I'd hoped I would. I find out on Friday whether I've made it to the next round ("the final two") but my guess is that I didn't. We'll see! I'll definitely post the outcome.

my fingers and toes are all crossed and i'm doing the funky 'jenna-gets-the-job' dance. my sister knows a number of those higher level city working folk, so if you get a chance tell me who you would be working for or with and i'll see if we can't dig up any dirt. if all else fails i would happily resort to light black mail to get you out west at last.

Hi! :) It's for SF Environment, which is a department of City government. I'm supposed to find out today as to whether I'm in the "final round" -- they chose to interview 7 candidates, and then of those 7 they'll choose 2 whom they'll have meet their director (which means I'd have to fly out there like, soon) and then they'll choose one of the two. I've got all of my parts crossed too, but I'm also trying not to get my hopes up!

Lots of other stuff happening -- we should talk soon! If you're around on Sunday you should give me a call!!
